Climbing and advanced climbing in Cardigan Bay

Perfect for adrenaline junkies and thrill seekers, visitors to Llain Activity Centre in Cardigan Bay can climb and abseil down the purpose built tower which offers multiple routes and challenges for all abilities. There are 20 different routes from easy to challenging, but all visitors will get the chance to work as a team keeping each other safe and learning how to belay.

For more experienced climbers, the advanced climbing option is made up of 400 handholds which make up 15 challenging routes including easy-angled, overhanging and very difficult. Visitors can also book special sessions on a nearby crag to practice their climbing skills in a real rock environment.

Kayaking and Canoeing in Cardigan Bay 

As well as climbing, archery and raft building, the family run Llain activity centre offers kayaking and canoeing sessions. Suitable for all abilities, visitors can explore the sprawling lake either in a canoe or kayak and will be taught the basics by the centre’s expert instructors. Once the basics have been mastered instructors will begin leading exercises and games.

Visitors can enjoy a weekend at the Llain activity centre which has a variety of accommodation options to suit solo travellers, families, couples and corporate guests. It’s also possible to check in to a cosy cabin which sleeps six people or to try out the newly fitted camping huts.

Go for a walk

If you want to combine getting fit while taking in beautiful views then there’s a good deal of choice in this part of Wales.  A particularly good option is the 8-mile Pennal Walk at Machynlleth which is part of the Dyfi Discovery set of walking routes.
