Win the chance to train for an ultra marathon with professional coach Kerry Sutton and a free place on one of the award-winning Threshold Trail Series events.
We have teamed up with Threshold Sports, the organisers of the Threshold Trail Series, which includes HEINEKEN Race to the Tower, Race to the King and Dixons Carphone Race to the Stones, to offer you the chance to train for and walk or run your first ultra marathon with professional coach and ultra runner Kerry Sutton.
The prize includes a non-stop or overnight place on one of the Threshold Trail Series events this summer and access to personal trainer, Kerry Sutton who will prepare you for the event.
The winner will receive an hour’s free consultation over the phone to discuss their exercise history, medical issues, fitness goals, kit and diet. Kerry will then design a personalized training programme with a monthly training plan until the race and she will be on hand via telephone, email or text for unlimited advice and support during the training.
We would like the winner to write three blogs about their training before the event and one afterwards to talk about the event itself.
Threshold Trail Series 2018
14th-15th July 2018 – Walk, jog or run 100km along the Ridgeway to the Avebury Stone Circle.
9th-10th June 2018 – Walk, jog or run a double marathon along the Cotswolds Way to the Broadway Tower.
23rd-24th June 2018 – Walk, jog or run a double marathon along the South Downs Way to Winchester Cathedral.
Meet your personal trainer… Kerry has always loved sport. After the birth of her two children she found running was a quick and easy solution to shedding the post baby pounds. She started with 10km runs and sprint triathlons and loved the sense of achievement and freedom they gave her. After watching a programme on ultra running, she entered the Marathon des Sables and was hooked; she now finds herself setting herself ridiculous challenges and loves the thrill of seeing how far she can go.
“I particularly enjoy working with ordinary runners in their quest for personal goals,” says Kerry. “I have helped lots of people over a range of distances from 5km to ultra marathons. An ultra marathon might seem daunting, but many walkers and runners thrive in the non-competitive, encouraging atmosphere over a longer distance at their own pace in stunning surroundings. And, when you finish, it will give you a fantastic sense of achievement.”
