On 24th May, Six Day London marked the return of the annual event at Lee Valley VeloPark, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park this autumn with a launch party at Ticketmaster’s HQ in Angel. As winner of 2017 Best Entertainment Experience at the Sport Industry Awards, Six Day London is a unique cycling proposition that combines world class racing with a party vibe, with events across Europe, Six Day London will be back for its 4th year.
At the launch, they hosted 100 guests made up of, sponsors, hardcore fans, event stakeholders and of course cycling rider royalty, four-time World Champion Max Levy and 2018 Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Chis Latham.
Cycling’s best of the best is set to make this year at Six Day London bigger than ever. With Mark Cavendish back for a third year, he will be looking to crack his second-place pattern after partnering with Pete Kennaugh last year, and Bradley Wiggins the year before, October will see some fierce competition. Also preparing to take on Six Day London and show what they’re made of are Andy Tennant, Max Levy, Chris Latham and Lydia Boylan bringing their best to the Lee Valley VeloPark, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park this autumn.
World Champion Andy Tennant said: “Six Day is completely different to any other event we take part in throughout the year. The crowd really gets behind you and it’s a fantastic atmosphere, the competition is always fierce and you always want to do better than the year before.”
This year, Six Day London announced SONY as the Official Consumer Technology Partner. The global brand will also be sponsoring the Elite Women and will be joining the Six Day family for the first year.
Since the inaugural Six Day London event at the Lee Valley VeloPark, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Amstel has been the Official Beer Partner. This year is no different, with Amstel to be served at the race across the event.
Also new for 2018, Switzerland Tourism will join Six Day London as the Official Tourism Destination. They plan to highlight the plentiful cyclo-tourism opportunities in Switzerland to a new audience.
James Durbin, CEO at Six Day Cycling added: “We are really excited to introduce some new sponsors this year in Sony and Tourism Switzerland and happy to be able to welcome back other for consecutive years. 2018 promises to be bigger and better than before.”
Eisberg will be returning for a second year as the Official Non-Alcoholic Wine Partner at Six Day London, alongside their sponsorship of the Eisberg Sprinters. The UK’s number one non-alcoholic wine will also be supplying the wines and spirits for Six Day London through their parent company Halewood International.
London taxi firm, Addison Lee, return for their third year as the Official Passenger Services Provider of the event at Lee Valley VeloPark, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. They will be there to provide all transport requirements for the hundreds of staff and riders during the event and right through the year.
Apparel brand, KALAS, joins Six Day London for the third year to provide all rider kits.
