The Peak District Triathlon at Chatsworth, which took place for the first time in 2014, will be back for 2015 with some exciting changes…
Registration is now open for the 2nd Peak District Triathlon at Chatsworth, based at one of the UK’s best-known country estates. Taking place on Sunday 28th June 2015, the event features a new cycle route and an amended run route.
This world class triathlon is set in the middle of the Peak District with options of a sprint and standard distance race. The family-friendly event is the perfect opportunity to combine taking part in an iconic race with having a family day out at the Estate and exploring this beautiful area.
The sprint distance race incorporates a 750m swim in the river Derwent, which starts from the beautiful 18th century bridge and goes out and back in front of Chatsworth House, followed by a 20km bike ride in stunning Peak District countryside. The race finishes with a picturesque 5km run in the expansive parkland, featuring some highlights of the Chatsworth Estate including the famous Hunting Tower and amazing views of the Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown landscape.
The standard distance race consists of:
- 1000m swim
- 39km cycle leg
- 10km run
New for 2015
The cycle route is a single loop taking in some of the most beautiful scenes in the Peak District, and the run route has been amended to include an extra loop beyond the Hunting Tower for the standard distance athletes to feature more of Chatsworth’s landmarks.
Entry costs are £65/£62 (standard/sprint) for individual entries or £77/£72 (standard/sprint) for team relay entries with the first wave starting at 07:00 am. The Peak District Triathlon at Chatsworth also features a women’s only wave.
A maximum of 1000 race places are available and entries close on 16th June or when sold out.
