You’ve done 10k races, half marathons and possibly even a marathon or triathlon, but where is your next challenge coming from?
Adventure racing is set to take 2019 by storm and Quest Wales, staged in the surroundings of Snowdonia National Park, challenges you to trail run, cycle and kayak your way to the finishing line across picturesque landscapes.
Hosted on June 8, 2019, Quest Wales goes beyond a traditional event as you sign up to be part of a community that has been hooked in for life by a unique challenge and atmosphere. Suitable for all fitness levels and abilities, participants have the option of three scenic routes; 25km Challenge, 42km Sport or 53km Expert.
You don’t have to worry about equipment either, kayaks are provided as part of your entry fee and if you don’t have a bike, these are available to hire at an additional cost. If you’ve ever run a 10k, the 25k Challenge route is more than achievable and gives you the opportunity to take in breath-taking scenery and enjoy an unforgettable experience.
There’s also a fourth discipline which takes no training … the after-party! After you’ve received your medal and taken some memorable finish line photos, you can relive the race and jump in a hot tub to enjoy some well-earned drinks and hot food with friends and likeminded competitors.
Oliver Kirwan, Race Director at Quest Adventure Series, said: “If you’re looking to challenge yourself in 2019 and do things you never thought you could, Quest Wales is the event for you. A lot of our participants are runners and triathletes who are looking for something completely different and we’re growing a fanatical and loyal community that keeps coming back year after year.
Even if you’ve only done a 10k previously, you can do this! Just bring your sense of adventure and we’ll provide the atmosphere and an unforgettable experience. A lot of our participants sign-up as part of a team and adventure races are a great excuse to plan a weekend away with friends and like-minded people to work hard and then, play hard too.”
Quest Wales is part of the Quest Adventure Series which encompasses a number of one-day adventure races. Already well-established, events across Ireland in Killarney, Kenmare, Glendalough and Achill attracted over 8,000 participants in 2018.
