A brand new and exciting challenge event has been launched in Snowdonia for 2019.
Over 24 hours in September, Snowdonia 24 will see hundreds of participants take on the challenge of completing as many 10km laps as they can at their own pace and in their own time. You can take on the challenge by yourself and see how far you can go; or enter as a team with each team member doing their own distance at their own pace.
The challenge has been created by Breese Adventures, the company behind the Snowdonia Challenge and Great Orme Giant Walk.
Tracey Ann Breese, partner of Breese Adventures said; “Whether you’re a short or long-distance walker, an experienced trail runner or new to trail running this event offers you an exciting challenge that allows you to push yourself to the next level.
“Snowdonia 24 gives you the opportunity to see how far you can go but with full support and no need for navigation. You’ll be fully supported throughout the 24 hours by our team of qualified mountain leaders along the route and our ‘base team’ at the end of each lap.”
The 10km scenic but challenging trail takes you from the gorgeous village of Betws-y-Coed, up into the Gwydyr Forest and around Llyn Elsi with fantastic mountain views, before heading back down to the village. The trail consists of forest tracks, narrow paths and tarmac, with a couple of hills thrown in, and will be well signed along the way.
There’s plenty of space for your own support team to come along with you and offer additional encouragement. There’ll be food stations to help keep up your energy levels and hot meals included.
All participants, regardless of the distance they cover will get to take home an exclusive, locally sourced Snowdonia 24 slate medal and some amazing memories.
Snowdonia 24 will take place over the weekend of 21 and 22 September 2019 and early bird reduced entry tickets are now available.
Details are available on the Breese Adventures website.
