With a recent boom in the solo travel market, it’s becoming clear that more and more of us are enjoying the endless benefits of travelling alone. Whether it’s to tick off a bucket-list travel experience, get some much-needed headspace or to find a new sense of independence, there are so many good reasons to head off on a personal adventure.

Jumping on this years’ biggest travel trend is The Big Retreat Wales, the UK’s greatest holistic feel-good festival for 2019. The entire four-day weekend is a celebration of good food, music and a fully-loaded wellbeing programme geared perfectly for the solo-traveller. This year, The Big Retreat even have a dedicated Facebook group for solo Retreaters too!

Joining the main stage for 2019 is Mind-set and Purpose Life Coach Ben Bidwell, also known as The Naked Professor. Together with TV’s Matt Johnson, Ben is co-host of chart-topping podcast ‘The Naked Professors’, a series that aims to strip down the perceptions of mental health.

Speaking on the benefits of solo travel Ben comments:  “It may feel slightly unconventional and uncomfortable to go to an event alone, but you really won’t be on your own at this wonderful festival. One of the beautiful things we will all experience is new connections with like minded people. There will be so much kindness in the hearts of the people performing and attending that it will make a special atmosphere, if you come alone you give yourself the freedom to go where your heart takes you, and it’s then that you will meet the most special souls who are aligned with your path.”

Co-Founder of The Big Retreat Wales Amber Rich said: “Some join us as groups or families, but many join us alone which is fantastic. Not only do we encourage people to connect with fellow Retreaters through our Facebook page, but this year we’re hosting two meet-up sessions in our Central Giant Tipi for those who want to make new friends, meet new people and be inspired. If gin is your thing, solo travellers can also join our other co-founder Diana Dredge in the Gin Workshop for a tipple or two.

“Nothing is likely to beat the feeling of walking away from a weekend having crossed paths with people you’re going to want to be connected to for the rest of your life. And don’t forget, our crew will be on hand to help with tent set-ups and luggage carrying should you need it, leaving you visitors to get on with the fun stuff!”

The ultimate aim of The Big Retreat Wales is to inspire and delight, whether you’re on your own or not. Whether you’re taking a workshop with breath expert Richie Bostock or wetting your appetite in the Cook Tent with TV Chef Lisa Fearn, there is an entire programme of our very favourite things to do.

Also joining the line-up for 2019 is Dirty Vegan, Toni Jones, The Nordic Sisters and Bollx to name just a few. The full line up can be found here.
