London 2 Brighton Trek 2015

Rab Women’s Spark Waterproof Jacket

Price: RRP £140

Verdict: “I love this jacket. It’s super light weight and easy to carry. I only used the jacket in light rain but it beaded off the jacket with no leaking. The jacket also made an excellent wind breaker, and kept me warm. The adjustable cuffs and hood made the jacket a perfect fit. Great colour as well in the pink and purple.”

CAMELBAK Aventura 24 Ladies Hydration Pack

Price: RRP £125.00

Verdict: “Specially designed for women, the s curve straps and shorter torso make this rucksack super comfortable to wear. As well as the compartment containing the water reservoir, the rucksack has 2 other spacious compartments which has a packing volume of 19litres, perfect for first aid kits, spare clothes and sweet treats. It comes complete with a 3 litre reservoir and side pockets for extra bottles if needed. When filled, the weight of the rucksack is evenly distributed making it still feel light on the back. For a day hike, this pack is perfect. However, when filled to capacity and worn for extra long periods of time, it can cause discomfort in the back.”

Jason Sport Natural Sunscreen

Price: RRP £11.99

Verdict: “Really nice sunscreen. Offers spf45 and I felt it kept my skin well protected. It is on greasy and absorbs really well into the skin. The only thing I didn’t like about this sunscreen was the smell. The smell reminds me of the foam banana sweets I used to get as a child and I never liked them.”

SiS 800ml Wide Neck Bottle

Price: £4.20

Verdict: “The wide neck of the bottle made it quick to clean and fill. Easy to drink from and no leaks from the cap, even when rolling about in my rucksack.”

Karimor Hot Rock Ladies Walking Boots

Price: RRP 79.99

Verdict: “The boots were great. I had to go half a size bigger than I would normally wear but paired with walking socks, they were a perfect fit. The thick soles made them perfect for long and short walks. Sitting on the ankle, they gave excellent support and even when brand new, they didn’t cause any blisters…until I walked for 21 and a half hours straight in them. Highly recommend these boots.”

Bridgedale Women’s Merino Fusion Trekker Sock

Price: RRP 16.00

Verdict: “These socks fit really well. They felt comfortable and cushioned at the right parts of my feet. Not too hot, even when walking for prolonged periods of time.”

Jason Cooling Minerals and Tea Tree Muscle Pain Therapy

Price: RRP £7.29

Verdict: “This is an excellent product for aches and pains. I found the smell a little overpowering but with the relief it gave, I can put up with that!”
