Paul Larkins offers his long-term view on Mizuno’s Wave Enigma shoes
These shoes by Mizuno are all about one key factor: cushioning. Indeed, such is the plush feel, I’m tempted to go so far as to say these are just about the most cushioned shoes I’ve tested… and over the last 25 years I’ve tested a fair few! However, that cushioning does make these a little clunky for forefoot strikers.
Think of the Enigma 5 as being suited for long slow runs, marathons and general feel-good days out running. If, however, you’re concerned about shaving tenths of a second off here and there, well then, there are quicker shoes out there.
