Damian Hall gives his long term conclusion of Osprey’s trail running bag, the Rev 18
I’m sure a shrink could tell me why, but I’ve always loved pockets. The more the better and preferably zipped. Osprey packs are usually rich in features and the Rev 18, designed for trail running, has so many pockets and zips it’s frankly confusing – but mostly in a fun way.
There are pockets for phones, gels and a big pocket for a 2.5-litre bladder. What I really like, though, are the large waist belt pockets, and behind them, the race vest-style stretchy, open pockets – great for stashing spare layers or waterbottles quickly. At half a kilo however, it’s too heavy for my trail running. Instead it’s become my de facto option for weekend walks and picnics with the kids.
