Following 2017’s huge success, Superhero Series is back with a bang!

Big, bold and gutsy, it’s the only sports series dedicated to the UK’s 13.3 million disabled people – the Everyday Superhero – and its next event, Superhero Tri, will be taking over the world-class Dorney Lake in Windsor on 18 August.

Superhero Tri, powered by npower, invites people with any kind of disability to go solo or unite with family and friends to take on unique challenges with as much or as little time and support as they need. Gismos and gadgets, from floats and boats to adaptive bikes and trikes, are positively encourage on the course – as are masks, capes and pants over tights. The emphasis is very much on fun.

Over 2,000 ‘Everyday Superheroes’ have already signed up for this year’s event, as well as a whole host of Paralympians and TV personalities.

Thirty Celebrity Team Captains will be showing their support for a series that throws out restrictive rules and regulations that can deter or prevent many disabled people from taking part in mass-participation events. This year’s line-up for the Celebrity Superhero Tri is more diverse than ever and includes newcomers Billy Monger, the double amputee racing superstar, military Superhero David Wiseman, one of the architects of the Invictus Games, and Menna & Jen, the ‘Golden Girls’ of the 2018 Winter Paralympics, bringing home Great Britain’s only gold medal.

David Wiseman said, “I’m hugely excited to become a Superhero Series Team Captain and take part in this fantastic event. There’s some stiff competition out there but I’ve been told my team mates are a real force to be reckoned with and I can’t wait to meet them!”

Paralympian and Superhero Series founder Sophia Warner said: “I was overwhelmed by the positive support Superhero Series received in its debut year. Our Superhero community continues to grow every day and one of the things I love the most is seeing is so many return this year to take on an even bigger challenge!”

The Superhero Series is only possible through the support of its 2018 sponsors: npower, Irwin Mitchell, Stonegate Homes, Barclays, Quest 88, Blatchford, Physique, Maltesers, Endeavour Fund, PWC, RGK Wheelchairs and easyJet.
