Lake District-based Kendal Mountain Festival has been travelling around the country to give a taste of what the four-day event in November has to offer, and it’s down to its last two stops now.
The Keswick Mountain Tour comes to Hackney in London on Wednesday 7 June and to Brighton the following day to provide a cinematic feast of adventure films along with talks by inspiring explorers.
These include Jenny Tough who seems to have just about every adventure there is under her belt, including diving with sharks, cycling around a continent, and trekking in Patagonia. Then there’s the ‘Yes Man’ Dave Cornthwaite who along with many other crazy achievements has swum the length of the Mississippi (check out our Q&A with him here).
One of the highlights on the film line-up is Johanna, a documentary which charts Finnish freediver Johanna Nordblad’s attempt to break a world record by holding her breath long enough to reach 50 metres below a frozen surface.
The London leg will commence at 20:00 at the Rio Cinema, Hackney and the Brighton leg at the Old Market Theatre will be at 19:30.
The tour has already visited Caernarfon, Leeds, Bristol and many other locations around the country.
