UK retailer Cotswold Outdoor has announced it will be entering into partnership with British Canoeing, the national governing body for paddlesports in the UK.

In the new agreement, Cotswold Outdoor will continue to provide British Canoeing’s members and volunteers with exclusive discounts on clothing and equipment as part of the ongoing partnership programme. The retail brand will also support a number of paddling events and competitions in 2017.

The partnership is a significant development for British Canoeing as it gets set to launch its new four-year strategy.  The new programme developed with Cotswold Outdoor aims to encourage more people to take part in the sport and engage with British Canoeing’s members to provide enhanced benefits for the paddlesport community.

David Joy, Chief Executive at British Canoeing, said: “I am delighted that we have signed the new agreement with Cotswold Outdoor to further build on our partnership.

“One of our major ambitions for the next four years is to grow our membership and to provide enhanced offers for paddlers and our volunteers across all standards and paddlesport disciplines.

“This agreement very much matches that ambition and will provide tangible benefits to the paddlesport community.”

James Dumas, Partnership and Local Marketing Director at Cotswold Outdoor, also commented on the new partnership: “We are delighted to be forging a deeper relationship with British Canoeing.

“The sport has a higher profile than ever after the success of the team in Rio this year, and we are proud to support the organisation and its members at all levels – from grassroots to elite athletes.”
